Baked Pears with Honey and Ginger
- Nonstick vegetable oil spray
- 8 firm but ripe Bartlett pears, peeled, halved, cored
- 1 cup packed golden brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons ground ginger
- 6 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
- 10 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 quart vanilla frozen yogurt
- Fresh mint sprigs (optional)

Spicy Curry Noodle Soup with Chicken and Sweet Potato
Lauren: this recipe calls for a lot of ingredients, so if you can't get all of them, no worries. But it looks really yummy and I want to attempt a pass at it!
- 8 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 12 tablespoons chopped shallots
- 12 garlic cloves, chopped
- 8 tablespoons minced lemongrass* (from bottom 4 inches of about 3 stalks, tough outer leaves discarded)
- 8 tablespoons minced peeled fresh ginger
- 8 tablespoons Thai yellow curry paste*
- 8 tablespoons curry powder
- 4 teaspoon hot chili paste (such as sambal oelek)*
- 8 13.5- to 14-ounce cans unsweetened coconut milk,* divided
- 20 cups low-salt chicken broth (or veggie broth should be fine)
- 10 tablespoons fish sauce (such as nam pla or nuoc nam)*
- 8 teaspoons sugar
- 12 cups snow peas, trimmed
- 8 cups 1/2-inch cubes peeled red-skinned sweet potato (yam; from about 1 large)
- 4 pound dried rice vermicelli noodles or rice stick noodles*
- 3 pound skinless boneless chicken thighs, thinly sliced
- 2cup thinly sliced red onion
- 1 cup thinly sliced green onions
- 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 12 red Thai bird chiles or 2 red jalapeƱo chiles, thinly sliced with seeds
- 4 lime, cut into 6 wedges
